What we collect

Nothing. HIBIZO does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or user identifiers. There are no third-party SDKs. We never see your entries, photos, moods, tags, or location.

Where your data lives

On your device, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Each entry, photo, and tag is encrypted before it ever touches the database, using a master key stored inside the Secure Enclave. If you enable iCloud Sync, the ciphertext — not your content — is uploaded to your private CloudKit database. Apple's servers see encrypted bytes and nothing more.

Your recovery passphrase

The 12-word passphrase we generate is what unlocks your vault on a new device. It is derived with Argon2id (memory-hard). HIBIZO never transmits the passphrase, never stores it in plain text, and cannot recover it for you. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

What we ask permission for

Face ID / Touch ID to unlock the vault. Location (while using the app) to tag an entry's place. Calendar read-only to link an entry to an event you attended. Photos library to attach photos. Each permission is optional and revocable in iOS Settings.

Pro purchase

Handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the transaction; HIBIZO only checks the receipt to decide whether to unlock Pro features. We do not receive your payment information.

Deletion

Deleting an entry, photo, or tag moves it to Recently Deleted for 30 days, then permanently erases the ciphertext — on-device and in iCloud. Deleting the app erases the on-device vault. Removing HIBIZO from iCloud clears the synced ciphertext.

Children's privacy

HIBIZO is not directed at children under 13. We collect no personal information from anyone, so the app does not knowingly handle data from children specifically. If you believe a child has used the app, deleting it removes the on-device vault entirely.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, you'll see an update in the app before new behaviour takes effect. The current version is dated below.
