Story
HIBIZO is a private notes and diary application for mobile smartphones, designed for people who want a beautiful, daily, and genuinely private place for their thoughts, observations, and memories.
Why we built it
Most journal apps sync plain text to a server run by someone else, protected by their password. That's a lot of trust to hand over for something as intimate as a daily record. HIBIZO flips it : your passphrase unlocks a key stored in the "Secure Enclave" (that is an iOS term; Androids use a variety of similar protection technologies depending on the actual phone), that key encrypts your data locally with AES-256-GCM, and only ciphertext leaves the device. If you enable iCloud Sync, Apple's servers see encrypted byes and nothing else. Similarly for Android, only encrypted data leaves your phone, keeping your privacy where it belongs, with you.
Zero knowledge, by design
There is no account to create. No email, no username, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party SDKs. No way for us to see your entries even if we wanted to - the encryption is end-to-end with keys we never hold. Recovery happens through your 12-word passphrase (BIP-39, the same format password managers recognise). Lose it and nobody - including us - can decrypt your archive. That's the point.
The name HIBIZO comes from Japanese 日々象 — hibi (日々, "every day") + zō (象, "elephant"): a daily elephant, because elephants don't forget.
What can it do? Everything we thought a journal should do (and probably a bit more)

Secured by the most advanced open-source encryption (AES-256-GCM), this creates a "vault" that is only accessible to you (don't lose your vault keys). All data in HIBIZO goes into this "vault".
